The author is deeply academic and steeped in the rich research done in the 19th century. We are always hearing about how little "the West" knows about the rest of the world. In fact, however, the West has long known much more about Muslims and Buddhists than anyone in non-West regions knew about the Presbyterians!
Dods asserts the moral superiority of the teachings of Christ. However, he also notes that many "Christians" fail to follow the actual teachings of Christ -- particularly the moral teachings, while Buddhists seem genuinely kind and moral.… (más)
