This book feels like an early 2000s romantic comedy movie that made no money at the box office and is constantly being replayed on television because the rights were cheap. That seems mean, but that's how this book felt for me. That's not the type of book or movie I enjoy, hence the comparison. Lots of people love those cheesy, goofy romance books - and sometimes I do - but this book didn't hold up.
The female characters are bratty and mean. They never seem to come out of their shell to become better people or have character development. The little kid is a brat biter who also never develops. The two leads hate each other and don't want to date but do anyways. They feel like they have no chemistry whatsoever and that their relationship is being forced. Most of the characters feel like one note romantic comedy characters. It's annoying? It took me forever to get through the first few chapters, but I had high hopes the book would get better and I'd enjoy it more. But it was just the same old, same old and it never changed.
The characters constantly fight and don't communicate. You can tell it's supposed to be funny or goofy, but it gets annoying after the first one.
