Very simply told story. It would probably be good for younger readers though the author does talk about a man being very badly beaten for hours. The author does state (IIRC) that he wrote this for his grandchildren. Awesome that he did this for them.

I liked this book. For a non-fiction work it was very entertaining to read. There was the perfect amount of description and detail; not so much that it is boring adn not too little that the reader doesn't understand what's going on.
It tells the tale of a WWII pilot that is shot down over Holland and his quest to survive in a German controlled area. It's a quick read and doesn't open itself up to a lot of "reading between the lines" to find its themes and underlying ideas.
Overall, I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys history or is looking for a quick non-fiction read.… (más)
