Bmx bikes was a good book. To start they tell us about BMX bikes, they are smaller than most bikes and the bikes have small low frames. Schwinn,GT,Haro, and Yamaha are the most popular manufacturers. Professionals race all over the world. They also talked about the early version of the sport. Early BMX racers tried normal bikes but then they realized that those bikes couldnt work on that tough turan. Riders had to get used to the wide tires and the bike itself. At first the riders tried not to go in the air but now people love going in the air. In 1983, Haro was the first to make a bike just for BMX. In 1995, freestyle bicycle stunt became a sport in the X games. Building the bike is a big task because it has it be sturdy. BMX competitions take place on hard-packed dirt tracks. The tracks have everything jumps, turns, and Berms. Almost all the racers take part in more than one competition. Street riding is the oldest sport type od BMX competition. Vert riding is when you have a half-pipe and you do a move in the air. Safety if very important to the riders gear is necessary so you don't get injured. Dave Mirra is one of the most popular stunt riders. He was born on April 4,1974, in Syracuse. He has won 12 medals and no other athlete has earned that many medals.

I think this book is alright id give it a 3 star. The reason i give it that is because i’m not that interested in BMX. I think if you like BMX you will like this book. It goes over all the things you need to know. It goes over the sport the bikes. It even goes over the precautions they take to make the safety is good. So if you like BMX this the book for you. So i gave this book 3 stars.

Summary:
This is an informational book over the state of Ohio. This book is packed with facts and has great organization as well. It is well written and would be a great resource for a child doing a report or wanting to find out information over Ohio. This book is 32 pages long and has 7 chapters. These chapters cover Ohio's state facts like when it became a state, the population, the capital, the biggest cities, the size in sq miles of Ohio, the nickname, state tree, state flower, state animal, and state bird. It also covers Ohio's history, people, their land, economy, government, and things to see and do in Ohio. It also has great pictures and completed with a glossary.

Personal Reaction:
I really liked this book. I picked it because my father is from Ohio and there was a lot of information in this book that even I didn't know but was written in a way that wouldn't be hard for a child to understand.

Classroom Extension:
1. I would use this to teach my students some basic facts about Ohio.
2. I could use this book to introduce children to the state and begin a pen pal transfer between a school in this state and that way my students would have things to discuss about the state the student they write to are from.
3. I would provide this as a resource for a report on the state.
4. I would have my students draw a map of the state and put 5-10 of their favorite facts about this state to share with the class as a fun way to learn the facts.
