Alrighty then - if you have read any of my reviews, you will know I do not retell or insert spoilers if I can help it. In my mind, a review is to identify the good, the bad, and the ugly about a story - not give away the plot.
Having said that sometimes it is hard to say what you need to without giving it all away. This series has gone at least one step up with every new addition. Cold Case: Sweet Redemption is incredible.
First, the same attention to detail when developing characters, their world-building is on point so that even the most out-there plot suggestion seems to fit the context.
The author manages to include and discuss a multitude of culturally taboo topics in an empathetic manner. By taboo, I am referring to topics that are recognized as existing but are usually not discussed by 'polite' society outside of clinical situations. These include but are not limited to, sex addiction, anorexia, self-harm, body dysmorphia, suicidal thoughts, and street living.
Combine all of this with a gripping plot that just keeps twisting and this is a book well worth reading.

This book was well worth the read. Great characters, realistic dialog, and a great plot with lots of unexpected twists. One thing I really enjoyed was the inclusion of older people and bodies that were not perfect. J.M. Dabney excels at writing fiction that is believable, steamy, and down to earth.

This is the third in the series and by far the best one so far. Interesting, well-developed characters; rich world-building; and a plot that just kept on twisting with more than a couple of "did not see that coming" moments.
I loved that this romance was built around a pansexual and an asexual -we, as readers, rarely get this exposure. The author not only delivered the romance but built the heat.

-reading the first two books of the Cold Case series and I think #2 is much better. Again there is a Daddy kink, but this time it is set up so it does not just appear in the story. Much better world-building. A lovey story with lots to explore - missing the "I didn't see that coming" and the final touches that lead to a 5/5 but a lovely meal of a book.
