Farley follows his nose in this engaging picture-book, lured away from home by the scent of hot-dogs. With a sniff, snorfle, snuff and whuff, he makes his way from backyard party to construction site, through someone else's pool and into an unfamiliar park. There are many interesting smells in the world, and Farley loves them all. But when he finds himself far from home, will they help him retrace his steps...?

A humorous dog-on-the-town story, Farley Follows His Nose will appeal to fans of Lynn Johnston's For Better or For Worse comic-strip, as well as to young animal lovers. I myself am not a regular reader of said comic, and probably would not have picked this one up, had it not been reviewed in a recent issue of The Horn Book magazine. After his bath, Farley heads off on an adventure. Baths always make Farley feel hungry you see, so he must be off in search of food. His nose takes him around town and finally back home again, meanwhile enjoying some food, a dip, and helping a boy find his way back home! From the creators of the For Better or Worse comic strip, you will find this story a romping good time, even if you have never heard of Farley before! Share it with a fellow dog lover today!

This Shining 2010 Willow nominee had kids smiling and trying to guess what Farley would find and love next. The words used to describe Farley's sniffing is effective and the size and color of the font added to the adventures that Farley was having. Kids enjoyed this book.
