Elisabeth Croll (1944–2007)

Croll does an excellent job investigating the social plight of young girls in Asia; most notable is her focus on the experiences of young girls in their own right, and not vis-a-vis male relations. However, it would be more apt to say it makes parallels between China and India rather than Asia as a homogenous whole, as Croll gives the most weight to these two countries while only giving a cursory glance to other countries.
