Carolyn Croll creates a fairy tale atmosphere in her picture book biography of Redoute. The book follows Redoute from his childhood of dreaming to be an artist to the revolution in France. He became the official flower painter for Marie Antoinette and Empress Josephine. The message this book gives out is a lesson on perseverance, as see by Redoute overcoming numerous obstacles. There is a glossary at the beginning of the book to help with pronunciation. The language is simple and easy to understand for younger readers. Illustrations: acrylic painting. This book is about a young girl named Ariel who wants to race with her mom in a hot air balloon. Her mom says that she is too young to ride in a hot air balloon. On the day of the race, Ariel gets in the hot air balloon to look at it and accidentally falls asleep. Her mom starts flying the hot air balloon without realizing her daughter is in it. They go through several obstacles, but end up winning the race because of Ariel's help. Age- intermediate
Summary- This book was about a balloon race that this little girls mother was in. This whole town had it and the little girl really wanted to go with her mother but her mother told her she couldn't until she was older. Then he mom felt bad and told her that she could go sit in the basket until her mom had to leave for the race. Well the little girl fell asleep and didnt hear her mom take off and her mom didnt see her because she was tucked under. Once they were already up in the air the little girl got up and he mom was freaked out and they had to go through the race together. The little girl ended up winning the race with he mother.
Review- It was a good suspenseful book I didn't want to stop reading it I would definitely have it in my class for my kids to read.

Summary:
Three brothers live on a farm with their father doing different chores. The father can not decide who to leave the farm to so he decides to give them each a chance to fill up the barn with whaterver they wanted. the oldest filled it with animals the middle child filled it with hay but the youngest filled it with light and got the farm and decide to share it with his brothers.
Personal reflrction:
This book shows that you should think outside the box along with that you should do what you are good at doing.
Classroom extension:
1. Have children think about what they could fill the barn up with.
2. Have children identify the different animals in the book.
