Charles Ives and His Music por Henry Cowell and Sidney Cowell
IVES IS, BY FAR, ONE OF THE GREATEST COMPOSERS OF ALL TIME (or, at least, of the narrow window of time & composers that I'm familiar w/) & Henry Cowell weren't no slouch neither. So, of course, a bk by Henry & spouse Sidney re Ives is bound to be good. Cowell was an early supporter of Ives' music when he was mostly written off as too complicated or dissonant or whatever. Ives' 4th symphony is absolutely the greatest symphony of its time (IMO) & his Concord Sonata is the greatest piano sontata of its time (IMO). & it hardly stops there.… (más)
