I can't resist buying odd comic books, and this one about a university hiring a football coach certainly qualifies as odd. I picked it up for 50 cents from a bookstore remainder bin, marked down from $5.

I have no interest in football, so I didn't actually read the book until I heard the subject of it, Scott Frost, got his butt fired from his coaching position last month. In less than five years, he went from having comic book made about him to being shown the door. Now that's funny.

The comic itself is a dry and dull account of a behind-the-scenes wrangling to close a business deal. The mention of money is actually sanitized from the story, though they show a couple guys and a dog flying on a private plane at one point, so it probably was ridiculous. Google search says $5 million. What a ridiculous figure for a government employee to make.

Oh, well, now I can at least toss it down in the basement with the rest of the comics and forget about it.… (más)
