story of the work being done by aeronautical engineers, specialists in aviation medicine, and courageous test pilots, to overcome the handicaps imposed on the minds and bodies of men by high speed and high altitude flight.
look at the human factors involved in the rapidly expanding field of terrestrial flight. This book was one of the first books I ever read. That was some fifty-five years ago. To this day I can remember with joy how thrilling and captivating that experience was for me. As I turned the pages I could feel the saddle leather beneath me and the hot pursuit of the native Americans as they sought to prevent my delivery of the mail pouch in-trusted to me. I read every page many times as a new reader and place it today on the shelf alongside my Edgar Rice Burrows volumes.
