Wendy Cooling (1941–2020)

I think that this is an important poetry book to read to children because not only does it teach them about poetry, but it touches on the diversity in the world. I think that this book did a great job at showing children that, and them poems also flowed together very well from the different authors. I loved the illustrations in the book and how it showed the different ethnic groups and how not everyone is the same. This is a great book to incorporate into a poetry/social studies lesson. I think that this book teaches children that not everyone is the same, and to appreciate what you have, because not everyone can be fortunate enough to have somethings that you might have. The poem “Imagine” helps children to understand that. I loved this book and will keep this in mind to read to my future students. This is another great book that shows that different authors use different language for effect in their poems.… (más)
