In this volume, Francis Cook presents ten selections from Dogen's masterwork, the Shobogenzo, as well as six of his own essays brilliantly illuminating the mind of this peerless master.
I think this is one of the clearest, interesting, and creative treatments of Avatamsaka thought that I've read. It is both a great introduction to this very important "school" of philosophy, as well as simply a wonderful treatment in general.
