Denyse Cohen created wonderfully believable characters here. Audrey is relatable as she struggled to carve out an identity independent of her work and family. I love how she refuses to let others define her, even as it complicates her romantic relationship with John. Also kudos to the author for not shying away from the less savory aspects of fame. There is a nice balance of anguish and sweet and a whole of sexy without being over top and distracting from the story.

Denyse Cohen provides a nicely developed contemporary romance where, as the reader might hope, the 'girl gets the guy' in the end. What sets Cohen's story apart is the road trip setting where Aubrey (our protag) is trying to 'find' herself while photographing and promoting the rock band she's traveling with. The interactions and relationships with the guys in the band - while trying to catch the eye of her favorite, John - makes for the requisite tension that moves the story forward. I'm not generally a reader of romance, but Cohen's writing is accessable and her storytelling is capable, so if this is your genre, you'll likely enjoy One Hit Wonder.
