The story of Cinderella is about a young girl who lost both of her parents and overcame abuse in a positive magical sense.

Cinderella is forced to live with her evil stepmother and her two jealous stepsisters after her father passes away. They all were extremely cruel to her. They made Cinderella do all the housework such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, mending clothes, etc. She had to stay in the attic where she had mice and birds for friends.

Meanwhile, in the kingdom, the king decides that his son, Prince Philip, is old enough to find a suitable bride. The king invites every eligible young lady in the kingdom to attend the fancy ball, where his son will be able to choose his bride.

Cinderella is forbidden to attend the ball by her wicked stepmother. She finds herself with a mountain of chores to do and no fancy dress for the ball. Her friends, the mice and the birds, lend a hand in making her a dress, only for the stepsisters to immediately tear apart right before the ball. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother saves the day by providing bibbidi-bobbidi boo magic that turns a pumpkin into a carriage, rags into a beautiful dress for the royal ball, the glass slipper, time with Prince Philip, and the ending is a fairy tale happily ever after.

Review: This book talks about a pig who digs and finds a buried treasure. This simplistic book is great for new readers and is phonemically correct.

This short modern fantasy tells the story of a little boy, Jeremy, who is asking his grandpa for a story from the "olden' days". So, grandpa creates this long story about a dinosaur who came into his room and followed him everywhere he goes. The favorite part of the book was its humor. The illustrations and story line were silly and creative. For example, the dinosaur uses three bars of soap when showering, six tubes of toothpaste to brush his teeth, ate a whole cabinet of food, and drank a gallon of water at school. I liked how light and easy the story was to follow because the story showed repetition with the dinosaurs actions. At the end of the story Jeremy was skeptical about whether or not the story was true and grandpa says, "Well, maybe I'm not that old," which I thought was hilarious because I could remember when I was younger, thinking about how old everyone was and now the roles have switched. The big idea of this book was to not assume things like age because we are have been young and are always getting older.… (más)

This was about a boy who really wanted to go on a trip but he has to write a report on it in order to be allowed to go. He saw a giant squid when he went to the bottom of the see. He learned a lot about this and was glad he went. I would like to see a giant squid. -J.G
