In the final (for now) Invisible Library book, Irene must come to terms with her new knowledge about her parentage. At the same time, a new threat appears to be lurking as entire worlds are disappearing. As Irene and her friends attempt to determine what's happening they'll have to dig into the origins of the library, a feat which might destroy everything as they know it.

A solid final outing for this series, which I've so thoroughly enjoyed. There's plenty of adventure as usual (although not quite as breakneck as some previous entries) while also resolving several major plot points that have developed over the course of the series. Fans of the series should be pleased with this resolution.… (más)

It took me a while to get into this novel, but the quick pace of the last half really made up for the slow start. The story is essentially a retelling of the Scarlet Pimpernel with the addition of vampires. Opening in England, Eleanor is recruited to a secretive league for a high-risk mission because she bears a strong likeness to one deposed French queen. Given a crash course in espionage, she soon finds herself en route to revolutionary France, where she manages to get separated from her fellow league members and to fall afoul of a murderous vampire. I thought the premise behind why this particular book needed to be retrieved was quite clever and the potential for adventure on limitless alternate universes is exciting.

I think the reason I didn't give this more stars is because I enjoy dark and intense magic where this was almost playful.

The ending made me quite intrigued and I may read the next book to see if any of that darkness find it's way in to the series.
