This is a comprehensive look at how Canadian public policy in influenced by the United States, neoconservatism in general, and globalization. It touches on economic, social and foreign policy. It can be easily understood by the general reader who is at least somewhat familiar with Canadian political economy.

Mr. Clarkson has a bias towards liberalism and the welfare state, which I must admit I found refreshing having read so many books recently from the opposite side of the political fence. Except that I don't believe that signing international agreements is an abrogation of sovereignty; it is an exercise of it. Overall, however, his bias didn't interfere with the sound and reasoned presentation of his ideas and his analysis of the way forward for Canada in the face of globalization.… (más)
