I have resisted these suggestions because I firmly believe this not to be the case. Nor do I believe for one minute that the Christian faith does not contain within itself all of the disciplines needed to achieve salvation without having to resort to Buddhist practices, particularly sitting meditation.
This book has really helped me to flesh out my intuition with some hard facts about the major differences between these two faiths. It seems well researched and written, particularly the parts about Buddhism, which has left me better informed.
For me, we need to agree to disagree without being disagreeable. Rather than try to pretend that there are no differences in our respective faiths, or seek the lowest common denominator, we need to both focus on the outworking of our faith in the areas of love, compassion, peace and justice.… (más)
