Alix has an overpowering personality and a magnetic aura that appeals to Leila.
Inexperienced Leila gets caught up in a situation she never expected. At first glance Alix comes off a pompous jerk and Leila his gullible pawn. There were so many times I wanted Leila to take charge and stick up for herself. I also wanted to give Alix a piece of my mind. However, as I became better acquainted with the characters I started to realize Alix's arrogance was his way of coping with responsibilities and protecting himself. It is said that a good story evokes strong emotion. If that is the case, Abby Green did a beautiful job. An Heir Fit For A King is an intense, emotional whirlwind. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.… (más)

Twenty-five-year-old London actress Nicole Duvalle has been living in a farmhouse with her six-month-old baby daughter Anna in the French countryside for about a year. It had been her sanctuary. But it soon gets spoiled when the paparazzi track Nicole down. A news story has just reached the papers: "Billionaire Marchesi's Secret Love Child Uncovered". Someone must have told the press about her and her baby. But who?

Nicole spent one passionate night with Rigo Marchesi (Italian billionaire CEO, who is part of his family's empire, the Marchesi Group). But when Rigo discovered who Nicole really was (the notorious daughter of her more notorious actress mother) he wanted nothing more to do with her. Nicole's mother had many marriages, she drinks alot, is loud and obnoxious, uses people for her own gain... And it has been hinted in the press that Nicole is the same as her mother. Nicole even tried to promote that image (for her mother's career). But nothing could be further from the truth. Nicole hates the paparazzi, and her mother's lifestyle, and she really wants nothing to do with any of it. So this is why she fled to the French countryside. But now it seems her idyll is over and the paparazzi have found her.

Rigo has been burned by love in the past. He had been engaged to be married ten years ago to a girl called Lydia, (a "she-beast" Rigo calls her) who just wanted him for his money, got pregnant with his baby on purpose, and later aborted his child. He now wants no serious relationship with women since he no longer trusts them, and he eventually got a vasectomy. So when Nicole tells him about his child, Rigo doesn't believe her. And when he sees this story in the press he assumes Nicole is just like Lydia and wants him for his money and is using a child to get it. But to his shock, after he reluctantly takes a DNA test, he finds Nicole is telling the truth and the child is his.

At the moment, his family is in the middle of a big business deal, and this story is putting off the people his family are trying to deal with. So Rigo comes up with a solution---that he and Nicole marry for a few reasons---for the sake of the child, to get the paparazzi off Nicole's back, to help with the family business deal, etc. But what he doesn't count on is his still strong attraction to Nicole. And he discovers, along the way, she is honest and is nothing like her mother or Lydia.

I liked Nicole, she was very protective of her daughter Anna. I also liked Rigo once he finally came to his senses and saw Nicole for who she really was. I also liked how they both made an effort to make some changes for each other. Nicole didn't want to face the real world and wanted to hide away with baby Anna (like Rapunzel, Rigo says) but she eventually comes out of her shell and begins interacting more with people. Rigo also made changes. He was really interested in his family business, and deals, but ended up putting them aside for his new wife and baby daughter, who were way more important.

A very enjoyable read by Amanda Cinelli.

"4 out of 5 stars, two lost souls find one another at an inopportune time and try to make the most of it. However, when both of their lies come out, than more lies come into play, will their true feelings be able to become revealed once everything is on the line?

Seductive. Intense. Fast-paced. It keeps you on your toes from the very beginning and hooks you once you realize that through they have an immediate connection it’s because of their past experiences that they fight it from the start."
