A thin (approximately 50 pages), though incredibly weighty volume on the ritual known as the Toadbone rite, or "The Waters of the Moon".
The flowing, poetic, ecstatic nature of the book may disagree with those simply seeking straightforward, technical, or clinical information on the praxis of the rite, but for those seeking the more poetic truth behind them it is an invaluable volume, matching the quality and content that serious occultists have come to expect from Xoanon Publishing.
This book is currently limited to 77 public, and 3 internal copies, meaning that unless it sees a second printing, it is very difficult even to locate a copy to read under the very watchful eye of it's owner.… (más)

This book (published posthumously) is volume 1 of a planned 4 volume set containing the complete magical essays of Andew D. Chumbley, including many previously unpublished pieces. Many contemporary occultist view Andrew Chumbley as one of the greatest sorcerers of our age (especially practitioners of Traditional Witchcraft), and I heartily agree. It's really amazing and insightful work. His words have a timeless beauty. The essays range in theme, but are gathered to have a cohesive flow, and are somewhat chronological.

His writing, though non-fiction, is pure poetry. The book also contains a good quantity of Chumbley's artwork (creative pen & ink pieces and magickal sigils).

Chumbley's tragic and untimely death at the age of 37 is truly a huge loss.… (más)

Surely this book represents the apotheosis of the modern esoteric publishing endeavour- a book that is not only a guide to the performance of the "Waters of the Moon" rite but also contains within each copy a page from a second text dealing with communication with the genius or spirit said to be bound to the volume. Whilst it can be said that he breaks no new ground with his rendering of the rite, the gist of which is readily available online, Chumbley's book as a whole is at once a thing of beauty and a modern grimoire compete with working tools- whilst the price the book commands second-hand is truly astronomical I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about the study of our folklore or indeed the practice of witchcraft.
