NCLA Review: In the 1970s, summertime was all about mowing yards, hanging out with friends, having your first crush on a girl and trying to ignore the neighborhood bully. A friendship that develops between a 12-year-old boy, Dustin, and a 75-year-old man, Jonathan, who attend church together eventually affects the whole neighborhood. As the older man shares his faith with Dustin and he in turn shares with his friends, lives begin to change. They all learn about faith and forgiveness from the teachings of one man willing to give a little of his time and himself to some neighborhood boys. Written, produced and directed by Christian filmmaker Rich Christiano, this is an inspiring film for all ages. Bonus features include a 40-minute documentary “Behind the Secrets,” a commentary between Rich Christiano and Gavin MacCloud, the “Houses of Jonathan Sperry” and a “Special Message from The Director.” A promo filmed in front of art depicting a man lighting a cigarette could be offensive to some viewers.
