A cozy mystery set in Stony Point, Maine. When Annie inherits Grey Gables after her grandmother's death, she sets out on a mission to discover who the mysterious looking young boy found in the background of a few of their family and friend photos taken in Stony Point back 20 years.

It turned out to be 16 year old Cagney Torrez. He was found dead. His body had been found floating in the bay.

Cagney hung woth a rough crowd back in the day and had stolen a piece of jewelry and gave it to Annie's niece when they were young. The thief, Dorian Jones, came back to the island to retrieve the jewels, which he had hid in Annie's grandma's attic 20 years earlier. He claimed to have worked as a handyman working his way through college back in the day. But, he's still looking for that one necklace.

This is book 9 of the Amish Inn Mysteries. I found this series at Half Price books while looking for other books in a different series by the same publisher.

Valentine's Day brings a quilt auction and event to Pleasant Creek along with guests to Liz's inn. Liz is dealing with a broken furnace when one of her guests arrives and saves the day. This same guest is later found murdered. Things from Naomi's past are stirred up.

I didn't really suspect the character that turned out to be the murderer. That's my norm though so your experience may vary.… (más)

A friend (CC) gifted me with a number of books from this series. This novel deals with a Poetry Retreat (hence the well versed--since most of us probably associate verses with poetry or music).

I do not know much about poetry beyond the basics. I recognized some of the poetry referenced but most of it I was not as familiar with.

I have found these books to be quite distracting during nervous times (waiting for doctors etc.) and appreciate them for that. I know there are additional books in the series beyond what my friend sent to me and I will probably try to request the others as well.… (más)
