Shadows Over Shanghai por Charles Lamont
Lots of stock footage of things being blown up lend a bit of realism to this story of a photographer caught up with a plan to get an amulet from Shanghai to San Francisco, where it will be matched with its mate and worth $5 million to the Chinese war effort. All in all, better than things of this type usually are, with Dunn, Grey, and Morgan giving likable performances. The presence of a few actual Chinese in the cast also helps.
2023 movie #1. 1953. Goofballs get launched to Mars, buzz NYC and land in NOLA, which they think is Mars. Take off again with escaped cons and land on Venus (not Mars), all the Venusians are Miss Universe candidates, literally. Who thinks up this stuff? More tedious than funny.
What can I say that has been said. They are the greatest. On par with others: Laurel & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, & the Marx Brothers.
