A film starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd (Columbia Pictures, 1989).

Paranormal scientists vs an evil painting and its underground slime.

C (Indifferent).

It's mostly special effects gags and merchandise ads, strung together with a script that presumably seemed Good Enough to somebody at some point. It's almost coherent. You can feel the careers of all the leads imploding as you watch. Peter MacNicol is funny as Janosz, though, for all the five minutes he's in the movie.

2022 movie #154. Terrific remake of the 1956 original. Alien spores from outer space turn people into pod people in San Francisco. Don't know why it took me so long to finally see this.

Five years after the events of the first film, the Ghostbusters have been plagued by lawsuits and court orders, and their once-lucrative business is bankrupt. The Ghostbusters discover that New York is once again headed for supernatural doom, with a river of ectoplasmic slime bubbling beneath the city and an ancient sorcerer attempting to possess Dana's baby and be reborn. Can the Ghostbusters quell the negative emotions feeding the otherworldly threat and stop the world from being slimed? Written by David Thiel… (más)

Plants from space are replacing people.

I guess they couldn't think of an ending (even though the ending is one of the few great things about the book); instead it just turns into a zombie movie. Still good, though. Plenty scary, with an entertaining cast.
