This is the story of romance for older married couples. I am thankful for books like this that remind me that troubles and trials come to everyone.

I had high hopes when I picked up Journey of Grace. I love reading Christian fiction and admire how the author weaves faith into the storyline and I hate to say this but I was disappointed with this book. The plot interested me, especially with me coming from a past abusive relationship myself, but I felt the depth of each character was lacking, which was incredibly disappointing. There is so much more depth the author could've taken the reader to, like giving Grace and even Owen a deeper backstory. With this being the first book in the series, and with the author noting at the beginning of the book that this series was written to go in order, you would think there would be more dimension.

The dynamic between Grace and Owen left much to be desired, and when Grace's ex-husband briefly comes into the picture, there is very little conflict, which is resolved quickly. I felt the entire plot was rushed which was disheartening because I really wanted to love this story.

The times of prayer that were sprinkled throughout the book were utterly beautiful and I loved how Grace's friends and family stood by her during her difficult time. I know when I was going through my time of separation if I wouldn't have had my friends and family to support me I don't know what I would've done.

Journey of Grace shows the importance of faith during hard times and the significance of a strong support system to surround you during difficult times. This book is easy to read and I was able to finish it in a few hours. The writing is decent but I was left wanting more. The entire time I was reading I felt like there was something missing, though I could never quite put my finger on it.

I am still not sure if I will read the other books in the series. I guess only time will tell.

Death is a very painful experience! I like the way T.K. Chapin pointed it all back to GOD as the healer of the brokenhearted. I also like the way he pointed out that GOD has to be first & our joy cannot continue without that realization and always keeping that relationship intact & growing.

I want to start off by saying that this is a well-written story. However, I don't think it's completely realistic. It takes many attempts to leave a violent relationship. Most attempts would end in injury if not near death.

Yes, she changes her name and moves across the country to start over. Good. But....she's already making eyes at a cute guy and she just escaped an abusive marriage. I have to question how realistic this is. Some survivors of domestic violence usually have a history of going from one abusive relationship to another. It's hard sometimes to tell the difference between a smooth-talking charmer with an ax to grind and a man who means every sweet word he says.

I'm glad that the truth came out in the end for Serenah/Amy because a lot of women lose their supports (friends, family, etc) when they need them the most. Charlie is a winner. John deserves to rot in jail.
