I loved this book. It's a wonderfully passionate tale of not only falling in love but learning what love really is. If you enjoy a good romance with a bit of drama, you should definitely give this a try!

The version I got does need a good proofreading, however. There are a few words that are consistently misspelled as well as a handful of other typos and countless erroneous apostrophes.

If you’re looking for a fun-filled, “fluff” book, be sure to check out Lindsay Chamberlin’s “Shoreline.” Alexis and her friends Jordan and Lori are spending the last week of summer before heading to the “real world” at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. The three friends meet and become involved with three guys who are also friends. As a person who loves fairy tales and romance stories, I could not put this down, though sometimes the drama between Alexis and Jason made me want to throw my e-reader away. Parts of this book did read like a high school romance rather than the summer flings of 23 year olds. Chamberlin does have a way with words, and I am in love with her definition of love: “Love could be immortalized. It could be remembered and written forever into the world, inscribed on some inanimate object. It could be wonderful words given by a loved one, or simple letters combined to show an unbroken bond.”… (más)

****I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from the author via Library Thing****

I really wanted to read this book because I could relate to Alexis' fear of being in the ocean. Although I have not experienced what she did, I do have this irrational fear of drowning. The idea of putting my feet in water where fish can swim by me also gives me the creeps.
I found Alexis and Jason's love story very compelling and filled with emotion. Jason falls for Alexis and tries to help her overcome her fear of the ocean.
They have one week together before Jason is set to leave for the surfing circuit in Fiji, so the romance between the two is fairly fast paced.

I really loved the beach scenes and discovering with Alexis the contributions that Jason has done for the local ocean life. It was refreshing to have a male character that not only was respectful and caring toward his partner but also cared about his local environment.

As much as I love the two main characters, Alexis and Jason, I really did not like Alexis' friend Lori. I thought she was a bit pushy, and annoying. Her other friend Jordan I think overreacted a bit in the beginning toward her love interest. I found that whole scene when the girls leave the bonfire a bit over dramatic. That might just be me though.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a great beach read. Chamberlin does a great job of bringing her setting come to life, you can practically hear the waves breaking on the shoreline.

The Shoreline by Lindsay Chamberlin
Alexi and her two other girlfriends: Lori and Jordan are at the beach house for another week. They have all graduated college and just one more fling before they must find full time work and pay bills, loans and get on with their adult life's.
They meet with some guy and fall head over heels in love with them.
Lori and Brian, and Jordan and Ty and Alexi and Jason. The three men are on the surfing circuit and due to leave for Fiji so their one week together is very fast paced.
Love the water scenes, dune gliding and the surprise the girls get when they are shown what the men have contributed to locally. So much information.
Bit of a drama when Alexi sees Jason ex hugging and kissing him and her sister treats them with evil looks while waitressing their table. Love the English connection...
I really wanted to read this book because of it's location. I've never been there and have seen movies and read other books. This author made me feel like I was there on the beach.
Alexi plans to go with Jason on the circuit but she does have work lined up so it's anybody's guess that she will go. Found book very very very very deep with caring, not only sex scenes but a caring for the environment in the area.
She wants to overcome her fear and Jason helps her but it didn't work. They all have secrets that do come out in time and some they never tell.
Great to know this is just volume 1 of Following the Crest Series.
I received this book from the Library Thing via the author in exchange for my honest review.
