This is a well thought out coffee table book about Jazz. It is aesthetically pleasing and equally informative. It is an easy read and covers its bases well with the information provided. This book offers a good overview of the style.

This book I bought the first day I entered London in 1977. This book has been so thoroughly read that its pages have dismembered from book, still with it though. A book with so many memories no words can express them.

Having tackled The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in this series, Roy Carr turns his attention to the Thin White Duke assisted by Charles Shaar Murray.
Again the format is record reviews of Bowie's output from his mod days through to the early 80s. A great intro and guide to the sometime bewildering career of rock's great chameleon.

Using the same format at The Beatles book Carr wrote with Tony Tyler, this one is a book of record reviews covering Rolling Stones UK releases from 1963 to 1975.
A good introduction to the band's music written in the witty Carr style.
