This book is an insult to the people of the Ozarks. Camp uses old ideas about them, This book, dated in the 1960s, uses views, language and events that might have been found a hundred years earlier, but not at the time of writing. Even the closing lines about living in a dogtrot house and going to a cabin are ridiculous. Few dogtrott houses could be found anywhere at the time, and those were very likely preserved by historical organizations. Also, they did not call their homes cabins. If some structures were actually called cabins, they were vacation houses use for hunting or fishing camps. What old books was this man reading when he wrote this?… (más)
