Shine Bright: Live a Supernova Life is an interesting and provocative read that informs the reader, and in some, will ignite the spark of personal change, growth, and renewal, reminding each of us that change in the outer world can only be accomplished by looking within each of ourselves and making change on a personal level. Cameron is clearly frustrated with the current status quo, and aims to get readers to pay attention to small things that can, in turn, have ripple effects within our communities. She has a clear vision for the world that she wants to create, and I like that world. The author does not hold back, but gives full vent to what's irking her about modern western civilization, which is refreshing and inspiring. She's an unapologetic non-conformist who is indeed doing just that with this work. This is a quick read, adding to its appeal. It reads like a series of essays on how to improve yourself, the world, and positively impact the environment. There were a couple of instances that I actually exclaimed "huh" aloud, because I had a revelation or thought about an old concept in some new way. If you'd like a basic how-to manual on how to effect change in yourself and in the world around you (as well as how to reduce your ecological footprint and live more sustainably), I highly recommend this book. While highly informative, the only criticism I have is that I would have liked to see the author incorporate more humor, as that always keeps me turning the pages. Still, the book does inspire, and I will keep it on my bookshelf to re-read in the future.… (más)
