His business card reads: Hannibal Jones, Troubleshooter. He is former NYPD homicide, former FBI-Treasury, licensed PI, and was a US army brat raised in the Germany of his mother after his father's death in battle. The publisher's blurb is a pretty good hook, so no need for recap or spoilers. The characters have life from the writing and are well done. I love this series! The book I loved, the narration not so much.

Intense. Stark and O'Brien take an assignment from the CIA after the FBI tanked on the job of stopping the new cartel bringing the drug ICE into the US. This job is the toughest they've had to date, and the one that cost each of them and turned it into a personal feud.
Voice actor Nicholas Patrella did a wonderful job with all the voices and really acted out the story and did not just read it. His voice brings the characters to life with His inflections entirely suited the situations and characters.… (más)

The first case comes in courtesy of a friend of one of his young associates and involves spousal abuse. This thread is important to the main case involving a man accused of murdering another in a manner and in surroundings almost exactly like those of the murder of his father ten years prior in which his mother spent ten years in prison. The investigation is extremely convoluted and involves Hannibal's whole crew plus his most favorite lawyer. Excellent read that I HAD to read in one sitting.
The narrator was adequate but hardly enthralling.

The first murder victim vanishes without a trace of body, trace evidence, auto, or police interest in the space of minutes. But not only this body has gone missing. There's all the money a scammer absconded with as well as a good friend, and more. And more bodies. And a professional killer. And arson. Excellent read!
Narrator Royal Jaye seems perfect for this series as he can easily delineate the multitude of male characters with apparent ease. I won this audio in a giveaway! Yay me!… (más)
