Things keep disappearing into the crack of the book. Can your little reader help?
Saturday night family picture book read-aloud! (Book 2 of 3)
In this metafiction, Bella and Ben get knocked out of their picture book into a counting book and have to find their way back by wending through comics books, nonfiction, puzzle and activity books, a fairy tale, and more.
It should be zany and fun, but I just found myself bored. And then the ending was unnecessarily complex and weird.
Also, we were frustrated that there was no answer key for the "spot the ten differences" puzzles because we got stuck on nine. I went over it again for a long time while writing this review before I found the tenth. Here are the answers for anyone needing help:
• Large apple tree on left side of image is missing trunk.
• Small apple tree on left side of image is missing entirely.
• Red spot missing from top of balloon.
• Clouds to the right of the balloon have shifted position.
• Cow on the right side of the balloon is missing a spot.
• Windmill blades have shifted position.
• Path across hill with the windmill is missing.
• The ewe on the right side of image has turned her head.
• The leftmost of the three rabbits has turned its head.
• A fence post is missing from the fence in the lower left corner of image. (This is the one that tripped us up!)

Playful metafiction where the characters interact with the gutter between pages in the book in fun and twisty ways and ask the reader for assistance.
Very cute book that has Ben and Bella confused as to why they are ending up in the wrong book. They finally get thrown back into their regular book and are relieved. This book is similar to Story Thieves but is geared towards younger audiences.
