Shae Buggs

I read the first half then read the last two chapters. This book felt like it wasn't looked at by an editor as it was filled with grammatical and spelling errors. It started off well, had a fun concept then flew through not really building the characters. I gave up reading the middle 1/4 of the book because I was tired of the narrator's selfish, unbelievable plot line. It was sold to me as a romantic comedy. I really didn't feel the comedy come through the sentences. Sorry.

Sadly, because of the hard read though the lack of editing, I can't rate this book more than 1 star. I wish I could get back the 4 hours I but into this book...… (más)

While there were several very funny scenes in this novel, it was not satisfying.

The characters- all of them- were beyond obnoxious. Our POV protagonist is a crazy bitch, and not in a fun or admirable way. Her BFF, Drew, is at least as awful. The Love Interest intentionally poisons the protag. It is horrific.

The whole premise trivializes domestic assault.

And amnesia? REALLY? if you go that way, at least make it plausible!

Now- there were well-written funny scenes. I doubt they are worth wading through the novel for, unfortunately.

Also, instead of speaking, people were always screeching, sulking, smirking, etc. This is annoying.

This was a quick, fun read. Lucy, the heroine throws a full wine bottle at her husband causing him amnesia. Before the event they were both at the point of divorcing so afterwards Lucy can't wait to get him back to "normal" so she can get the divorce. The only problem is her husband isn't quite the same as before the accident and that's where the chuckles start.

Ms. Buggs has the start if a good career as a writer. She will need to get someone to do a better job of editing and to develop her stories a bit but this was a good first book.… (más)
