i selected the book because I had been speaking for free after speaking on behalf of an employer who sometimes was paid for my speeches and other times simply used the speech as a marketing tool to sell other services. I was disappointed in the marketing info in the book. The author simply says go speak, and a bureau will then find you and help you get bookings as your relationship with the bureau deepens. However, I wanted to know how to get bookings without a bureau/ meaning, how and where to self market. Even though that question was not really answered, there was key info on billing rates and website content, and I was able to put together a plan for approaching planners familiar with my former employer and with me personally. And, from now on, I'm going to stop giving away what others are getting paid for! Overall, the book was helpful.… (más)
