The first, Only Mine, by Stacy Brown, was not at all to my taste mostly due to overblown language. The plot was okay, but the author has a love of adjectives and adverbs that I do not share. While I recognize that language was more formal in the time the story is set in, I kept thinking, "No one talks that way." I also felt there was some thesaurus abuse going on here.
The second, The Bachelor and the Bluestocking, by Karen L. King was pretty good. A nice fluffy read.
The third story, Love Letters, by Patricia Waddell is the prequel to her "Gentlemen's Club" series, and you can tell by the way right at the start she introduces many secondary characters we can assume will all be featured in their own books. This particular story is all right. If I see the later books in the series at the library I might pick them up, but I am not rushing down to the store to get them.… (más)
