Benziger Brothers

A standard text of what was a simplified daily office (and hence accessible to the laity) prior to the reforms of Vatican II. The little office used a limited set of psalms (mainly from the gradual psalms) and variation was restricted by three seasons, corresponding to the seasonal changes in the Saturday Marian masses. Still useful as a simple form of the sanctification of time, especially for those who are comfortable with the Latin, although there are other forms of the Hours which may be better choices.… (más)
