This is well written. I usually dislike books written in present tense, but this one didn't bother me. I enjoyed the two main characters in this book, Starr and Christian. I liked the way that the author illustrated Starr's thinking process. I didn't understand going into this book that it isn't so much the first book in a series but part 1 of a book in two parts. And so, as you would expect, issues are left unresolved in this first book and you need to read both to get the sense of a complete story.… (más)

I was sent a copy of Starr Fall as a gift from Kim Briggs.

I super like the cover. The colours are perfect. I liked this story. Im glad it went the direction it did. If she had made the other decision at the school it would have been a completely different story. There is a looooooot of kissing though. Could have toned that down a wee bit. The relationship seems a little rushed and parts of it are just too perfect, considering all the shit that's happening.

Also, I really want there to be a magic element to this story. I don't know if there will be in the sequels but it feels like there should be. There's little hints everywhere.

I'm excited to see what happens. There's an ass whuppin coming.

This is the third part of the series and it is far from over. More revelations have sufficed which is a surprise both to Starr and her friends. It seemed like the General have more pawns in the game. Now, what would Starr do? What would her friends do?

I am not yet sure how I feel about all the things that happened in this installment. There were some good things and some parts which I am not too happy. I did suspect that some of Starr's old friends may make a comeback because their disappearances were very suspicious. True enough, they're back. In as much as I may have suspected it but then I was still surprised when they showed their faces. It turned out, they were not really her friends. In fact, they were so jealous of her. Yes, those fake friends are very common in real life too. But don't worry, Starr has a solid set of very loyal friends who will scour the ends of the earth to find and rescue her. They will never abandon Starr.

At this point, I'm not sure who's using who when it comes to the people after Starr. Between her family and the General's group, each party seems to have their own agenda and Starr is in the middle of it. Talk about the proverbial between a rock and a hard place. It's definitely where Starr is. But I'm guessing, Starr is just waiting for the best opportunity also to make her move. I know she will come up with something. Also, her friends are not just lying around helpless. They are planning her rescue also. So, it's a wait and see for the next book. Hopefully, the General's evil plans will finally be exposed and he would be punished for all his crimes. And Starr would finally be able to stop running for her life and be a carefree teenager again.

With regard to the part where I was not too happy, we'll, there was a part that annoyed me. Of course, with the way the story has turned, not all of them are really in Starr's favor and it's a bit frustrating because I thought everything is going good for them. Also, some of the villains are really annoying and I can't wait to see if some of them will change their loyalties. It seemed like, some are not too happy where they are and may just be the key that Starr needs to get out of her current prison. We'll see.

All in all, it's a surprising turn of events. I did not totally picture it but as I said, I did have an inkling that something like this may turn out. But then again, it was still a shock. Hopefully, good things are going to happen in the next book. So far, I have no idea or any theory as to how Starr and her friends are going to outsmart the General but I know they will come up with something. I hope it's going to be as surprising as what happened here. Something that would be totally unexpected.

I give this book 3/5 guns.

I'm a china doll to be placed in a vacumm-sealed glass case on the very top of the tallest shelf to collect dust and grow fragile from lack of use.
