"... extremely well worth reading, tho' not all plain sailing, a marvellous achievement for 85, probably I've said this before." - MRJ to Gwendolen James, 21 December 1929, printed in Letters to a friend (p. 160)

Certainly the work of the worst Poet Laureate for over a century, possibly ever. But as Chesterton would say, even a bad poet is still a poet, and it is proper that his work is preserved for those who might enjoy his work. I am not one of that ilk.
