This was another good book in the Generation V series. The murder of the werebear wasn't that hard to figure out but what made this book great was learning the different dynamics of the paranormal beings that live in the Scott's territory. We learn about how the Scott's rule certain groups and we get to see how Fort interacts with them, which is quite different from the other Scott's. Which quite a few different groups have noticed and are watching what Fort is gonna do next. Which makes sense because there is gonna be changes in the Scott family soon and everybody is watching to see how it all falls.

This book was a buildup to bigger plots that will be happening in future books, possible even the fourth book. I can't wait to see where the author takes it and what happens with Fort and the Scott family.

I loved seeing my favorite character Suzume and I love her in every scene and we certainly learned some new things about her family and the Kitsune.

I was very happy at the way the book ended and I guess all I can do is wait for the fourth book to come alone.

I won this book in a giveaway for an honest review. Since I won this book, which is third in the series, I went and read the two books first before I started this one and I was not disappointed in reading them.

I would definitely recommended this series of books to others. And I'm glad I won the book, it looked interesting when I saw the description.

Update: I have finished books 2 and 3 and they are great reads and I would recommend that you continue on. Fort starts coming into his own and he's doesn't stay a weak character.

3.5/5 rating

This was a good and easy read. There is some parts I like and some I don't. This is a vampire novel and I like the way the author does these vampires. The Vampires in this novel are made different from any version I have ever read before. I love the dynamics of the vampire family and the main character is OK. He is a weak character and very passive, a lot of people take advantage of that throughout the novel. It can be frustrating at times and you just want to shake Fort, the main character, and make him stand up for himself. He finally does at the very end, the last chapter, which was kind of refreshing. I hope in the next book he doesn't go back to being as passive as he was.

My favorite character has to be Suzume, she made the book enjoyable and I love her in every scene she was in. She pushed/nudged Fort to do something he would have never of done.

I was struggling on whether to give this a 3 or a 4 rating because there was a few things that made me decide on the 4 rating. I loved Suzume and the way the author did her vampires and how they do things.

What I didn't like is sometimes I felt the author over described things and Fort could be annoying at times. Hopefully he gets less passive in the next book.

Just for a warning to readers, this book deals with a vampire that likes young girls. It doesn't describe anything, it just makes it where you draw your own conclusion on what's happening to the girls.

I'm planning on reading the next book, I would like to see where the author takes the story.

I really enjoyed this book, I think it was much better than the first one.

I loved Fort in this one, he wasn't as pathetic and he was definitely coming into his own and didn't let people push him around this time. We get to learn a lot more about the Scott family in this book and about how Fort is different from his other siblings. I love the vampire world the author has created and how vampires are made. I haven't seen a book does it like the author has done.

Suzume is back in this book and she is still my favorite character, I love her personality. We learn a little bit more about the kitsune which will most definitely come into play in later books.

I loved the ending and this book was definitely better in writing and it fleshed the characters out more and I'm excited to go and read the third book. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I would definitely recommend this series to anybody looking for a fresh take on vampires while still keeping the vampire feel.

I must begin my review with a confession: before tackling this book I waited until the next one was published as a sort of… security mechanism, for want of a better definition. This is the extent of my involvement with this series, one that consistently gets better with each fresh installment: the narrative arc and the characters are expanded with a steady, fascinating evolution that is nothing short of addictive.
