This was a very interesting story of the harrowing time this family went through and yet managed to survive. That part of the book was very well written. If the author had kept her book to just a memoir I would have given it five stars. However, she deviated into the history of the establishment of the state of Israel. She also drifted into a discussion of epigenetics. It seems she did not know what she wanted her book to be.
