Loes Botman

Hi, we are Jules and Jenni. (Julia and Jennifer)
We were born in Germany, we are twins and we are 11yrs. old.
We love to read and we love to tell other kids about our favourite books.

Today we are looking, (together with our dad), at a book for children age 2 to 4 years.
The book is:
Hello Animals! How Do You Sleep? by Loes Botman

The story:
There isn't really a story here. On each page animals are shown and, as the title suggests, how they sleep.
We see them tucked in their tails like a fox, or cozy in the hay like a calf, or curled up in their nests like a hedgehog.
The illustrations cover the whole page and there is always a short easy sentence underneath, like "Snuggled in straw".

Jules says:
I love this little book a lot. The pictures are very lovely. The squirrel curled up in its tail is super-cute.
My favourite page is the one with the bear and the tiny rabbit in their dens, the warm orange glow surrounding them. It's very peaceful and I feel happy each time I look at it.

I like to give the very beautiful illustrations 5 stars.

Jenny says:
I like the short easy sentences. I hated long winded, endless stuff when I was in kindergarden. My sister and I, we loved to "read" our picture books out loud to ourselves and we would repeat sentences we liked over and over (I don't remember the repeat part much, but our parents do).
This is a book we would have wanted to read all the time.
It also makes you feel calm and peaceful. I think, it's perfect for bedtime.

I like to give this lovely little book 5 stars.

The Dad says:
I don't have much to add, my kids said it all.
The artwork here is very enchanting, even as an adult, I kept going back to just have one more look at the stunning artwork.
The short easy lines are just right for the young audience and they are also easy to remember.
I fully agree, the book creates a very warm and relaxed atmosphere, absolutely perfect for bedtime.
