Stanley Booth is the author of The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones, Keith: Till I Roll Over Dead, and Rhythm Oil: A Journey Through the Music of the American South. He has written for Rolling Stone, Esquire, and Playboy, among other publications. Booth alternates the chapters on the tour with the story of the Stones in the 1960s, leading up to the death of Brian Jones and the decision to tour again. It’s pretty much a slightly padded out chronology, functional rather than deeply insightful and maybe of more use now then when the book came out.
