Rachel Blaufeld

This book was different than I was expecting. That doesn't necessarily mean bad, just different. I was expecting more angst, which is saying something since there was plenty in this book. It just somehow felt a little off when it was in the present. I think that is because the present scenes and the messy past that separated them in the first place felt a little too disjointed in some ways and too perfect in others. Piper is a great example of that.

I struggled in parts but for the most part, I enjoyed this story. It did feel a little anticlimatic towards the end in regard to the person who created the mess in both the past and present.… (más)

I love the World of True North that Sarina Bowen has created so I was beyond thrilled to find out that other authors would be writing books set in this world. I had not previously read anything by Rachel Blaufield and sadly I did not enjoy this book enough to try anything else by her. The Busy Bean series has been a fun addition to the Truth North world it's just that this particular novel was not great for me.

Second chance stories are great as long as they are believable and unfortunately I did not believe this story. Murphy and Ben were hard for me to connect with and I never felt like their story held my interest or took a route I could believe in.

I am very excited to read more books that take place in the World of True North as I know there will be several by a variety of authors coming out in the Busy Bean series as well as other other spinoff series. This is a relatable place with characters you truly care for and want to see a happy outcome given to.… (más)
