Penelope Black

I saw this author post a teaser on Bookstagram and I was intrigued. However, it was underwhelming. It was a bit of a slow burn, without a whole lot of spice until the third book. The author's handling of the romantic relationships was fairly realistic (given the inherent fantasy of the reverse harem trope), but any other aspect of the book (organized crime, tactical rescue, secret heir to billions, etc.) was just piled on and didn't really make for a cohesive story.

I binged this with the other two books in the series, so I'll review them together.
