Like a mini vacation! You could almost smell the salty air and taste the margaritas. Witty and so descriptive it reminded me of the manner Hemingway had of putting you into a single sense be it taste or sight or sound. The only thing I could have hoped for was that it hadn't ended so soon.

I have to say right off that I thought the concept and the story deserve a full five stars. Bjorklund has written a dire cautionary tale that also happens to be humorous and fantastic. The characters are well-drawn, particularly the aliens, the robot, Johnny the skater/stoner and Jake the "Representative" who is charged with keeping humans from being evicted from Earth.
The problem with this book is that it really, really, needs an editor/proofreader. After the first page, I said to my husband, "Well, I've found 3 spelling/grammar errors, but I've also chuckled three times, so I think this will probably come out as a wash." I was right. It tickled my funny bone, but also needs to be edited. My hope is that the book will catch the attention of a major publishing house so that the story can get the star treatment it deserves.… (más)
