So I'll just be up front. I did this book with a puppet and every time he had the hiccups, I made the penguin have hiccups too! The kiddos loved it.

The book isn't too fantastic. I mean, it's funny (penguins don't eat chili after all!) but it isn't super original. I wish it to be better. I did try to find extension activities with it by asking about penguins and whales and the like. Looking for other possibilities than what the written word says is huge in promoting early literacy.
