This tiny little book contains a synopsis of the Pendle Witch Trials of 1612. I came across it quite by accident while I was searching for a copy of another book. It was short and sounded interesting though, so I thought I would give it a try.

At about thirty pages long, it is certainly not taxing on ones time to give this a try. The book quickly and efficiently synthesis the events of the Pendle Witch Trials and makes a concerted effort to distinguish between what is said and what is likely true about those fateful events. I found this part of the book more interesting than the actual events. It is quite clear that most of the witch trials were based on trumped-up charges, however this was so clearly the case at hand that you wonder about the sociological and judicial mind-set of the time.

Regardless, the amount of information makes this tiny book surprisingly dense. If you are interested in the time then you may enjoy Pendle Witches.
