A critique of the idea that the gospels were written with only the concerns of their community. Bauckham forcefully argues the four evangelists intended a wide audience.
Some really helpful ideas, but much is obscured by technical, and philosophical jargon that it becomes difficult to mine and refine it to salient points.
Listed as part of my ongoing quest to understand what the RC bishops mean when they say "Freedom doesn't mean you can do whatever you want."
