Great Britain and Ireland in 120 little maps. The early 1940s editions were apparently printed from earlier plates and look like Victorian or Edwardian maps. The Scottish Hebrides and Western Highlands, still lacking in roads by the 1940s, appear on the maps with ferry routes from settlement to settlement, looped across the edge of the land like lace. Dunvegan was apparently a hub of ferry service with routes to Uist, Harris, Barra, and numerous destinations on the Isle of Skye itself.
