Tyra Banks

This was one of the hardest books to get through that I've ever read or attempted to read, and that's saying something. I picked it up and put it down quite a few times because it hurt my brain so much that I couldn't deal with it. Being a fan of America's Next Top Model (I don't know why; it's a guilty pleasure, okay?), I thought that I would be able to understand and appreciate it for the fun of it, but instead I just felt confused and a little sickened due to the, I dunno, cheesiness of it all. To each their own and all: this book just didn't cut it to my tastes. (And no - I didn't actually finish the whole thing, but I read enough and skimmed the rest that I think I deserve pats on the back just for the effort.)… (más)

So. Incredibly. Weird. And. Not. In. A. Good. Way. Unintentionally hilarious in parts, bizarre, dark, immature, and grotesque. The book has pseudo-psychological crap thrown in, there is no concept of time, there are multiple editorial errors and the acknowledgment at the end is obviously written by someone who doesn’t live in the world the rest of us inhabit. Ten pages of a thank you to, among other things large bodies of water and cafés. Seriously. And I won’t even go into the numerous books that were obviously pilfered and badly re-used. It just beggars belief.… (más)
