Monika Bang-Campbell

Little Rat Rides is a chapter picture book written by Monika Bang-Campbell and illustrated by Molly Bang. It tells the story of when the main character, Little Rat, takes riding lessons. Although she is nervous at first, Little Rat overcomes her fears and is even able to win a ribbon. I thought Molly Bang's illustrations were colorful and fun and really brought the story to life.

Little Rat has a terrible fear of sailing and the ocean. When her parents sign her up for a sailing class, she is forced to face that fear.

This book is a short chapter book about a rat called Little Rat, and her adventures through the summer of her taking sailing lessons and overcoming her fear of water for the most part. This is a good book because it uses different animals who all talk and sail boats to tell the story.
